The study is positioned to influence policy and implementation in three concrete ways. First, by documenting changes in innovation behavior between 2021 and 2026, the study will provide baseline evidence for assessing how firms have adapted to pandemic-induced disruptions and recovery trajectories, informing post-pandemic economic resilience strategies. Second, by identifying firm-level, sectoral, and institutional correlates of innovation performance, the study will generate empirical evidence to support more targeted and effective innovation policies, particularly for MSME support and sectoral development initiatives. Third, by improving measurement of firms’ engagement with digital platforms through simplified, behavior-focused modules, the study will provide more reliable data to inform digital economy policies and technology adoption programs. Together, these contributions position the 2026 PSIA to serve as a foundational evidence base for the next generation of national innovation and industrial policy.
